EPTL Season 3.0 - Tournament Overview

Tournament Format: EPTL 3.0 will follow a league-style format with 16 teams, each consisting of 8 players. The teams will be divided into four groups based on an auction event held on 9th March 2025. The groups are named after legendary tennis icons: Boris Becker, Pete Sampras, Chris Evert, and Martina Navratilova. Each group will consist of four teams, and the top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals.

The competition will take place from 3rd April to 6th April 2025 at The Jai Club Jaipur.

EPTL 3.0 Team Structure:

• Each team will have 8 players, categorized into A, B, C, and D groups.

• Matches will be conducted in a 3 doubles match format, ensuring that 6 of the 8 players participate in each match.

EPTL 3.0 Group Stage: 

During the group stage, teams will compete in three distinct matches:

1. * Titans Match (AA/AB/BB vs AA/AB/BB)

2. * Underdogs Match (CC/CD/DD vs CC/CD/DD)

3. * David and Goliath Match (AC/AD/BC/BD vs AC/AD/BC/BD)

Each player can only play in one of the three matches per team clash. The winner and runner-up from each group will advance to the quarter-finals.

EPTL 3.0 Match Format:

• * Group Stage to Quarter-Finals: Best of 13 games, 7 games to win, tie-breaker at 6-all.

• * Semi-Finals: Best of 15 games, 8 games to win, tie-breaker at 7-all.

• * Finals: Best of 17 games, 9 games to win, tie-breaker at 8-all.

Quarter-Final Matchups:

• * Group A Winner vs Group B Runner-Up

• * Group B Winner vs Group A Runner-Up

• * Group C Winner vs Group D Runner-Up

• * Group D Winner vs Group C Runner-Up

Additional Notes:

• In the case of a tie between two teams for the top spot in a group, the decision will be based on the number of games won and lost.

• All players must register their presence 15 minutes before their scheduled matches to avoid a walkover.

EPTL Season 3.0 Schedule & Dates:

• * Auction Date: 9th March 2025

• * Tournament Dates: 3rd - 6th April 2025

• * Final & Award Ceremony: 6th April 2025, followed by a cocktail party and dinner.

The first match will begin on 3rd April 2025 at 6:30 AM sharp, followed by the inauguration ceremony. The full match schedule will be released on the same day.

EPTL 3.0 Tournament Rules:

• The official match ball will be Dunlop AO.

• All matches will be supervised by an official ITF referee.

• The tournament will follow a best-of-13 format for singles and doubles (first to 7 games).

• Finals will follow a best-of-15 format (first to 8 games).

   • * 40+ Age Category

   • * 50+ Age Category

   • * 60+ Age Category

   • * 70+ Age Category

   • * 80+ Age Category

2. 2. Doubles Events:

   • -> Open Doubles

   • * Combined Age 90+ (Minimum Age 40)

   • * Combined Age 110+ (Minimum Age 50)

3. 3. Women’s Events:

   • -> Singles

   • -> Doubles
