Rules & Regulations

  • Format

The Gymkhana Premier League Season 3 will be conducted in a round-robin format, efficiently managed through the TennisKhelo app. This format ensures that each team has ample opportunity to compete against multiple opponents, fostering a competitive and engaging environment.

  • Team Composition

    • The league will consist of two groups, each containing 5 teams.
    • Each team will have 6 players.
    • Tennis Players will be assigned to teams through a category-based lottery system within the TennisKhelo app, ensuring fair and balanced competition.
    • The player categories are based on legendary players: Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, and Murray.
    • Player categorization is determined by:
      1. Daily routine performance
      2. Skill level
      3. Collected data

      (*Federer being the highest level)

    • This system ensures a well-rounded and competitive team composition.
  • Player Unavailability Due to Emergency:

    Substitute Player Rule:

In the event that one of your team members is unable to play due to an emergency or injury, the opposing team must allow a substitute player from the original team to take their place and continue the match.

    Walkover Scenario for Missing Players:

If two players from a team are unavailable, that team will only play two matches. The third match will automatically be considered a walkover, awarding the victory for that match to the opposing team.

    Reserve Player Rule:

A reserve player can be designated before the start of the tournament or matches. However, once a player has participated in the tournament, they cannot be replaced by a reserve player.

  • Match Rules

    • Each team will be composed of 1 Federer, 2 Nadal, 2 Djokovic, and 1 Murray category player, reflecting a mix of skills and strengths.
    • A player is allowed to participate in only one match against each opposing team, ensuring equal playtime and strategic planning.
    • The team captain, using the TennisKhelo app, will decide the playing combinations and which pairs will compete in each match.
    • Victory in a match is achieved by winning 2 out of 3 games against the opposing team.
    • In the event of a tie in the overall team rankings, the following criteria will be used to determine the ranking:
      1. First preference will be given to the team that has won the most games overall.
      2. If the tie persists, the team that won the head-to-head clash between the tied teams will advance.
  • Match Format:

The TennisKhelo app will ensure smooth and organized matches. Each match will consist of one set, with a 7-point tiebreak at 6-6. In case of deuce, the winner will be determined by the best of three points, adding an extra layer of excitement to the matches.
