In the second set, he held firm under pressure, saving break chances and eventually breaking Kym at love to seal the win with an ace. 

After the match, Suresh acknowledged the weight of expectations on debut, saying, “I just stayed calm, played my game… no matter the situation.” His nerve and game plan paid off, giving India precious momentum in a tie played away from home.

The next singles slot belongs to Sumit Nagal, making his Davis Cup comeback, who must follow up Suresh’s spark with a solid showing of his own. Meanwhile, the Swiss will need to respond quickly to avoid ceding too much ground in front of the home crowd.
